The Colombian National Aviary features 2,000 birds representing 140 species. The six acre site recently opened about forty miles from Cartagena de Indias and is a worthy journey if you are interested in the preservation of nature. Many of the species are endangered, and so it is important to support these types of facilities. The site features flamingos, eagles, parrots, and hundreds of other birds we have never seen before in other aviaries and in the wild. The most exciting viewing was seeing the hand feeding of the vultures. Check this out in another post.
