Monserrate is a mountain that dominates the center of Bogota. Bogota is at 8,500 feet and this mountain rises another 1,500 feet. We took the funicular to the top to see the entire city and to have lunch. I thought I was huffing and puffing at 8,500 in Bogota, but climbing around the top of this 10,000 foot mountain kicked my altitude butt. Our lunch was wonderful with a window seat and piano playing off in the distance. We didn’t stay long and returned to the lower city for more air.
A wonderful French meal at the top of Monserrate mountain in Bogota.
