Spring was already happening in Southern California but apparently we needed a little dose of the Alaskan winter. We popped up to Anchorage for the start of the Iditarod dog sled race (and because we had a couple of free tickets that were going to expire). It was already 75 and beautiful in SoCal and we stepped-off in Alaska into the last couple of weeks of ice, snow, and 25 degrees. Why do people do this on purpose I don’t know – but we did it anyway. Winter can be beautiful and disturbing.
I hope that’s the elephant god Ganesha hangin’ with the Buddha.
The iconic Alaskan winter scene – plowed road with a bottle of cheap booze thrown from a car.
