There are many schools of thought to the raising of children. One school is: guide your children, talk to them, treat them with respect, teach them respect for themselves and others, yet be their parent and not their friend. Another school of thought is: let your guilt of what your parents weren’t able to give you guide your thirty-something shallowness and thus you end up like the owners of the SUV in this photo – hauling your kids to soccer, drama club, scouts, baseball, and every other activity to fill your children’s ADHD world. I prefer this final school of thought: more parents should have eaten their young. Living vicariously through my children.
