1061-Traffic Circle – Mexico City

Driving in Mexico City is a nightmare. People drive wherever they want when they want. The streets have no logic and often the traffic on one side of the street switches to the other side and all of a sudden all traffic in all directions is shuttled off into a side street going in a direction no one wants. We were in a cab one night heading down town when a driver decided to go in the opposite direction on our side of the street. No one seemed to mind. I will drive in New York City and Chicago, but I won’t drive in this crazy town. Even the cab drivers don’t know where the Hell they are going.

This is the traffic circle on the Paseo de la Reforma (the Champs-Élysées of Mexico City). The sculpture is of Diana the archer. I loved watching the traffic from our hotel room as an flowing organic creature. Watch the flow as drivers go where they want when they want.
