The Kennedy Space Center has always been on my list of places to visit. As we raced down Route 95 from Baltimore to Ft. Lauderdale, we found out that SpaceX was preparing to launch a missile to resupply the space station. Launches don’t happen every day so we got a hotel room in Cocoa Beach so we could watch the launch from the roof. Up at 6:00 AM the next morning we joined a group of space junkies who also knew of this particular hotel roof. We waited as one of the group listened in on their phone to the launch control center countdown. Excitement was in the air as the countdown reached T-minus 2 minutes. Then a hold was placed on the launch and immediately cancelled and rescheduled. All in the roof-top group were bummed and quickly left to space-junkie at a future date.
We visited the Space Center the next morning to tour amazing collections of space vehicles and the space shuttle Atlantis.
