1223-Boat – Halibut Cove, AK

Stillpoint lodge recently purchased one of the most amazing boats on which I have been. It’s a twenty five person all aluminum landing craft that was formerly used in the oil industry in the Bering Sea and Prudhoe Bay. It’s powered by two huge diesel engines that turn water turbines pushing it to speeds of +40 mph. Without propellers and with the flop down front gate, the boat can land on any beach. The dual turbines allow the boat the maneuverability to spin on it’s own axis in the water. Check out the videos on two of the cruises we took.
