Ended up in Port Angeles this evening after a long ride through the Olympic National Forest to see the coast line and avoid Seattle. There is no reason to ever go to Port Angeles except to jump to Victoria, BC. I was here several years ago on an adventure abroad the research ship Kaisei. We had some mechanical problems and limped into Port Angeles for a couple of days waiting for repairs. We rowed ashore and ended up the Gateway bar drinking cheap-ass beer and playing pool.
Below are links to those previous blog posts.
But, things have changed in Port Angeles since my last visit. The nasty little bar is still there with the pool tables. I didn’t go in this time – too smokey and creepy. But I fell into a new restaurant next to the ferry that was one of the best meals I have had in a long long time. Check out the next post.
