Catalina Island is just 26 miles from the Southern California coast yet felt like a world away. I hadn’t been to the island in over forty years and not much had changed. It was a simple relaxing trip from the rush rush rush of SoCal. A high speed boat ride from Newport Beach and we were in another world. The ride to the island was glass smooth and took just over an hour. We landed in the main harbor, found our hotel, and began exploring.
Leaving Newport Beach.
