There is a cult bar in Hyder, AK called the Glacier Inn. It is famous in the motorcycle community as right of passage on your journey to Alaska. I didn’t do it two years ago and have thought about it since then. This time I made sure I was going to Stewart, BC and to walk across the border into Hyder. The walls are lined with dollar bills from all over the world that people have written their names on and pinned up. I was the only customer in the bar, and the women behind the bar knew why I was there. She poured me a shot of some paint thinner with a glass of water and was told to shoot the swill and chase it with the water. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. The reminder in the glass was poured on the bar and set afire. I paid my tab, ($4.00) and walked out a better man.

Getting ready to be “hyderized.”
Down the hatch.
That is what is does to your insides.
