Stayed in a wonder lodge in the tiny village of Iskut, BC. The lodge was run by a lovely Austrian couple Doris & Tony who extended a warm welcome and international hospitality. The lodge was serving a gold mine that was under exploration. The lodge was filled with geologists, geophysical scientists and crew, along with carpenters, and the associated mine people. All of the mine personnel were flown to the mine via helicopter each day. All supplies were flown in eventually completing the building of a thirty person camp. It was fun talking with the scientists, helicopter pilot and mechanic along with geologists. I was the only non miner in the lodge. Food was wonderful and the conversation was excellent.
