1593-Helicopter Ride – Halibut Cove, AK

I have been around helicopters for years, but never had the opportunity fly in one. Janine, Chris, and Heather were visiting the lodge at which Janine works when her friend Eric appeared with lodge guests returning from a bear-viewing trip. Chris and Heather had previously been with the pilot Eric a couple of days earlier on their own bear-viewing excursion. We had originally taken a boat to Halibut Cove for the day visit and were preparing to return via boat. Since the helicopter was returning to Homer, AK empty, Eric suggested he fly us back to the mainland. I almost peed my pants. I got my first ride in a chopper and got to ride up front with Eric. Check out the video below. It was a wonderful experience.
