The New Orleans street cars are finally back in operation along St. Charles Avenue more than two and a half years after hurricane Katrina. I was excited to see them back in operation. So, on my first day in the city, I had to take a ride down to the French Quarter and explore my old haunts. The ride was slow and noisy and was a trip back in time for me when the city was my home. I know you can’t go back, so I had a wonderful day as a tourist and saw and did things I had not done as a resident. Here are a few photos of the proud green street cars as they ply their way from Canal St. through the Garden District towards Uptown.
