230-Ships – New Orleans

For some reason I have a fascination for large sea-going ships. I think it’s from the freedom they have to traverse the oceans of the world and end up where ever they wish and because I like Otis Redding. One of my favorite cathartic New Orleans moments was to go down to the French Quarter and sit on the dock (of the bay) and watch the ships make the big left turn to head upriver through the Crescent City Connection bridge. Here are a few photos of bow thrusters at work (That’s a device that helps ships make sharp turns and not an extra you can get at the Bangkok Spa in the Quarter).
