Had a wonderful meal at a five star restaurant in the Shangri-La Hotel. We only had appetizers and soup along with an amazing bill.

842-Hong Kong Food1Thousand year old eggs with sugared ginger. I will try anything once, and that’s about all it took for these gelatinous eggs that are preserved for months in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, lime and rice hulls. They looked beautiful but had a disgusting taste just at the moment they went down your throat. I can eat a lot of troubling items, but I couldn’t do these.
